Hello, it’s been a while since my latest upload. We bloggers took a short break at the start of the semester. Since then, we have gotten new members, and I am delighted to see what content they will bring in the future.
For this week’s blog post, I wanted to share a place that I visited during the break. Those who have stayed in Seoul for a while might already know about it, but for those who don’t, this might be useful.
The place I want to introduce today is Lotte World. Of course, this place is located in Seoul, which makes it easier for all Hanyang students to visit. For those who haven’t heard of it, Lotte World is an amusement park located in Jamsil, a neighborhood in the southern part of Seoul that is also home to the iconic Lotte Tower, the tallest building in Korea. Today, I am not going to talk about the amusement rides in Lotte World, but instead, the Lotte World Ice Rink. The amusement park rides will have to wait for another time.
To reach the Lotte World Ice Rink, the easiest method is taking the subway. You will want to take Line 2 or Line 8 and get off at Jamsil Station (잠실역). After reaching Jamsil Station, head towards exit 4. This will bring you straight towards the Lotte World building. When you head in, make sure to head all the way to the bottom floor where the ice rink is located. Keep in mind that the fees for the amusement park and the ice rink are separate, so they are not connected to each other when you enter.

The entry fee is different on weekdays and weekends. On weekdays, it will cost you 13,000 won, while on weekends, it will cost you 15,000 won (a little more expensive on the weekend). In addition, the fee to rent skates will cost you an additional 6,000 won. This could sound a little pricey, but the ticket is valid for the whole day. Moreover, there are several discounts offers available on their website, so make sure to check them out before you visit. During my visit, I got a nearly 50% discount on the entry fee, minus the skate rental fee.

What’s great about the Lotte World Ice Rink is that there are little shops and cafes around the ice rink where you can buy snacks and drinks when you feel a little hungry. When you’re done with skating, you can head to the food court, which is conveniently located within the building.
Overall, I think Lotte World Skating Rink is a great place to make a quick day trip with a group of friends. Since if you have various other options if you get bored or tired of skating halfway through.
