Meet Beauty and Nature at Petite France and Nami Island!

Last week we had Chuseok holiday (추석연휴) in Korea. Because we have 5 days off, so it is a good time for us to go for a trip. We chose to go to 2 places including Petite France (쁘띠프랑스), Nami Island (남이섬) on Chuseok Day. It is an unforgettable and worthy trip. Now, please allow me to introduce these places one by one to you.

Petite France(쁘띠프랑스)

When it comes to Petite France, what do you remind first? To me, I remind one of the most famous Korean Dramas My Love From The Star (별에서 온 그대) because a special scene that the hero and heroine kissed was shot in this place. In fact, many famous dramas and variety shows are always shot here because of the beautiful scenery. So many people from all over the world who comes to Korea mostly choose to go here to have a wonderful memory with their lovers.

The concept of Petite France encapsulates ‘flowers, stars, and the Little Prince.’ The village contains a memorial hall dedicated to Saint-Exupery, the author of the celebrated French novel, Le Petit Prince (1943) and as such it is called the Little Prince theme park. In Petite France, you can’t miss taking photos here. Petite France consists of 16 French architectures, which make you feel that you are actually in France. Here are some photos of these architectures.

Except taking pictures what else can we find fun here? You can enjoy the shows, eat delicious snacks, appreciate the paintings and so on. You will get the guidance handbook when you come in the village and you can choose different language of version. The spots are llsited as follows: Saint-Exupery Memorial Hall, Orgel House, France Traditional Exhibition Hall, Antique Exhibition Hall, Europe Puppet House, French traditional games, gallery.

When you get this map, you can choose what places to visit in terms of your preferences. It is easy to find the French Square because it is beside the gate. The puppet show gives performance here several times each day. Opposite the French Square, there is a store selling beverage and food. The price here is reasonable. For example, you just need to pay 4,000KRW for two hot dogs. What’s more, I strongly recommend you to visit the Art Museum here. You can see various paintings and learn the deep meaning of them. Inside the Art Museum, there is a small room which presents the living style of Classical French family. There are a long desk, several sofas, a piano, big clock etc. Undoubtfully, it is a good place to understand other culture.

As a matter of fact, there are many worthy places in Petite France. The scenery is quite different from Seoul and it is another attractive spot of Korea. Why not deeply discover it by yourself?

A perfect place to relax

Namiseom Island (남이섬)

After finishing sightseeing in Petite France, we went to Nami Island. Usually, people buy the ticket of Nami Island and then go there by ship (The fee of ship is including in the ticket.). But if you are an adventurer, you can go there by Zip-wire. The Zip-wire allows you to enjoy the full sight of Nami Island and costs you 38,000KRW. By this way, it takes you just one minute to go to Nami Island.

Because we went there on Chuseok Day, so we could enjoyed more shows but at the same time we needed to face crowded environment. It i important for you to rent a bicycle if you want to go around the island within limited time. The price is 5,000KRW per hour (7,000KRW for holiday). The Nami Island is like a forest and it will be very beautiful when its leaves turn yellow or red. However, it is a pity that we didn’t come in the best time.

What impresses me most is the large grassland. You can take great pictures without PS. Scenery here is pure and natural. Even just talking with friends here will make you feel happy and comfortable.

(It was amazing to meet my friend here without previous contact)

How to get to these relaxing places!

1. Through a tourism agency

If you decide to join in package tour, you don’t need to worry anything. The tourism agency will arrange everything, including transportation, tickets, meals.

If you go there by public transportation, it is not very difficult for you to find the place.
