He was interviewed sincerely, thoughtfully and charmingly. I’m sure that the interview with Vittorio will provide good informations to you.
(I’ll mark Vittorio with V and Reporter with E.)
This is the lower part of the interview. Please refer to the posting for the previous interview.
E : What is the difference between the university classes in Italy and business management classes in Hanyang University?
V : It’s different. In Italy, a lot of people take classes. When I was a freshman, there were even 300-400 people in one class. So I couldn’t do group project or group project. The class was conducted only by the professor’s teaching style and there was an intermediate final class instead of a project or assignment. Also, attendance was not included in the score in Italy, but Korea lecture impose a score to attendance. Another difference is that there are many elements of evaluation such as reports, assignments, and presentations as well as attendance. So, I have to study every day in Korea, but in Italy, I had to study hard about two weeks before the exam.
E : how about the life as universtiy student? Is it differnece between Italy and Korea?
V : Universities in Italy are smaller than those in Korea. We have no facilities such as a basketball court, tennis court, swimming pool, gym, etc. Therefore, there is a strong perception in universities that students usually go to school for the professors’ classes or studying in library. Also eat something in university.
But you can do a lot of different things here. After class, you can exercise, go to the gym, or participate in club activities. Such as dance club, band club. So I can enjoy going to university here. Because I can do various activities instead of just studying.
E : What do you usually do after class?
V : These days, it is the beginning of the new semester and there is no midterm exam yet, so I tend to hang out with my friends rather than study. Since it is my first time to come to Seoul, I go to all the places in Seoul. New places. Sometimes I go to PC rooms too. This is what I do mainly.
But after two weeks, I will be in the school library for studying. Because of exam. (haha)
E : What is the most difficult and fun part of an exchange student?
V : The funny thing is that because I am independent, I can decide my own actions. Also, being able to meet various people is one of the fun things. It is interesting that I can meet and hang out with various people continuously even though it has been a month since I came to Korea. Including you(eunjin) who are interviewing. (haha) It was also very fun to watch the festival of Hanyang University. The song of Jannabi was impressive.
But what’s difficult is that there are some inconveniences if you can’t speak Korean or if you are not with a Korean friend. For example, there is no English explanation or picture of the food when you need to order the food.
But these are not to the extent of hard work.
Life in Korea is still fine and good.
E : Do you want to recommend an exchange student for business administration at Hanyang University?
V : No wonder. This is a really new and important experience. in one’s personal growth. You can meet friends from all over the world as well as Korean friends, American, European friends. I think this could be a turning point for you to change your sight. And Hanyang university is a very good school. It has very good school facilities and culture. I’ve never been to another school, so I can’t compare it, but my experience here is the best.
E : Lastly, if you summarize your life as an exchange student at Hanyang University in one word, what is it?
V : My life as an exchange student at Hanyang university is “EXCITING!”
