When people think of Busan, fresh seafood often comes to mind.
But for those who love noodles, this city also has plenty of great spots that deserve attention.
Here are two places I personally recommend if you’re craving a solid bowl of noodles while you’re in town.
1. Gukje Milmyeon (국제밀면)

Milmyeon is a beloved local dish in Busan.
It’s a cold noodle dish that’s somewhat similar to naengmyeon but with a regional twist.
Unlike naengmyeon, which typically uses buckwheat or starch-based noodles, milmyeon noodles are made from wheat flour, so the name “milmyeon”, literally means “wheat noodles.”
Gukje Milmyeon is a well-known restaurant located in Geoje-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan.
With over 23 years of history, it’s often considered one of the “Big 3” milmyeon spots in the city.
If you want to try an authentic, time-tested version of this dish, this is definitely the place to go.

2. Ramen-Ya (라멘야)

If you’re looking for something warm, rich, and Japanese, Ramen-Ya in Seomyeon is a great choice.
This place specializes in traditional Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen and is perfect for a solo meal.
They also serve a variety of Japanese dishes such as yakisoba, okonomiyaki, and soba.
The prices are reasonable, and the taste is solid and certified.

There are, of course, many more noodle spots across Busan that I’d love to introduce.
As I discover more, I’ll be sure to share them with you in future posts.
