Ways to enjoy spring in Korea

Hi! This is Dawon and today I brought ways to fully relish the short but perfect weather in Korea. With the start of a new spring semester, cherry blossoms are in full bloom and the campus is bustling with fluttered students. In this kind of weather and time, Korean university students usually do the two following things.

#1 Go cherry blossom viewing You guys would have seen lots of cherry blossoms even on campus but there are famous viewing spots around in Seoul. The most famous spot amongst them is ‘Seokchonhosu’ which is a lake right next to ‘Lotte World’. There is even a cherry blossoms festival held annually at Seokchonhosu. I recommend this place for ones that want to take “instagrammable” photos. It is pretty at noon but it is also another attraction at night since the night lights of Lotte world goes perfectly together with the blossoms. But one thing to keep in mind is that there are going to be lots of people, so try to avoid weekends and holidays. You should hurry in order to see fully bloomed flowers!

#2 Enjoy picnic at Han River

Han river is one of the to-go places for Hanyang university students after class. It is a popular choice in spring and fall since the place is perfect for a short picnic. You would probably have seen many students enjoy a can of beer with the nightscape. Since it gets too hot soon, I recommend you to visit in spring. Since the delivery service is developed well enough, you will be able to enjoy all kinds of food there. The most popular ones amongst Korean students are ‘tteokbokki’, chicken and han river ramen. When you visit a convenience store in Han river, there is going to be a noodles machine unlike other stores in Korea, make sure to try one of them! Asides from the food, there are lots of stores that provide a picnic kit which includes board games, mat, and blankets.
