Cherry Blossoms Bloom Along Cheonggyecheon

Heejae’s article

April is the season of cherry blossoms and mid-terms. The more blossoms you see, the closer your exams get. Knowing that mid-terms were just around the corner, I made a quick escape to see the cherry blossoms — and Cheonggyecheon was the perfect getaway.

Cheonggyecheon is a long stream that flows right through the center of Seoul. The part I visited is called Hadong Maesil Street, and when I went, both cherry blossoms and plum blossoms were in full bloom.

Even though it was lunchtime, lots of people were out there enjoying the cherry blossoms. It was nice to see everyone taking a short break to appreciate the flowers — students, office workers, even tourists. It felt as if the cherry blossoms had become a resting place, offering people a moment of peace away from the stress of daily life.

So if you need a place to refresh your mind, this might just be it. Don’t hesitate, because the blossoms won’t be there forever! I’ll leave the address below, just in case you’d like to visit:

232-1, Sageun-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
