University: Where Learning Extends Beyond the Classroom

Nadiah’s Article

University is not the only place for you to focus on your education but it’s also the
place to gain new experiences and discover new things.
In Korean university culture, club culture is particularly important. It’s essentially the
place where you connect with individuals who share your interests. University clubs
are common, but department-specific groups are also quite prevalent as well.
Being a part of one of Hanyang University’s music clubs has always piqued my
interest, and joining one has been a major personal goal of mine.
Before I decided to join a band club myself, I got the opportunity to watch one of the
band’s club live shows cause my friend was performing.
Everything about it was what I imagined, the atmosphere, the amazing sound
system, and the stage lighting were all so above my expectations and it fueled my
desire to perform even more!
I especially would like to highlight the sound production,t it was somehow much
better than what I had anticipated. The microphones were very crisp and the sound
level of each instrument shines through without being muffled. Of course, these
venues are built to optimize sound but being inside and witnessing everything felt
surreal.
My major point is that attending university gives you the opportunity to engage in a
wide range of experiences, such as attending a live performance for the first time or
participating in activities that, in my opinion, would be more difficult to undertake
outside of school. So explore to your heart’s content!!
