Hi, I am Dawon and today I am going to introduce you guys to a place to study
during exam periods outside of school. Surely there are lots of places to study at
HYU but sometimes a new environment helps to focus on your studies, so I am
going to introduce you to a type of place that Korean students like to use. It is called
a study café and is basically a place where you can study and have drinks at the
same time. Normally, lots of people study at cafes but sometimes it is inconvenient
when you need a quieter place or need a lot of equipment for your studies.
Moreover, a lot of cafés these days have time limits or don’t prefer customers sitting
for long hours with their laptops. Study Café offers spaces specifically concentrated
on studying and have every element focused on making an adequate studying
environment. You can pay either for hours or periods and it normally costs
2000~3000 won per hour. The study café is open 24/7 and you can make your
payments and choose a seat through kiosks or apps. When you enter, coffee and
drinks are offered for free and other types of equipment such as a pen, charger,
reading desk, keyboard, blankets, etc are arranged. Personally, I like to visit study
cafes during exams when I feel like cafes are too distractive and libraries are too
stuffy. Study café offers me exactly the compromised space for those two options.
There are many study cafes around the area so you will be able to choose according
to your taste. In the case of Wangsimri station, there are more than 10 study cafes
around. A small pleasure of mine during exams is visiting various study cafes around
my house. I like changing my study environment frequently so study cafes are the
perfect options. For those who are like me, try using a study café facility. You will be
able to find a comfortable and pleasant place to study.
