Christmas vibe in Korea

Dawon’s 1st Article

Hi guys, I am Dawon and I am going to introduce you to a place in Seoul where you can feel
Christmas vibes. It is Myeongdong! Myeongdong is already a famous place amongst foreign visitors
but other than shopping centres in Myeongdong, there are lots of cute streets to walk along. I will
share some places that I went to last week. They are not that famous so they are not crowded but are
surely worth visiting.

#1 Benjamin Poke and Salad

It is a poke bowl restaurant and it is famous for its yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) poke bowl. But
since I visited the place a little late, they were all sold out. So, I ordered a smoked duck bowl. There
were plenty of fresh vegetables and the sauce was especially good. It was mixed with wasabi so it
can be a little spicy, so be aware of it before ordering! Next time I am looking forward to trying the yukhoe poke bowl.

# 2 Illusien

On the way to Benjamin Poke and Salad, there is a craft store all decorated with Christmas mood. It
will definitely catch your eye since it has such a warm and cozy atmosphere. The prop shop sells a
variety of things, from chocolate to hoodies. All the items have cute points on them and there were a
lot of miniatures. I recommend the place for those who are looking for little Christmas presents or
souvenirs.

3 Namsan Yejang park

If you walk a little away from exit 1 of Myeongdong station, you will be able to find a perfect spot for
night walks. I found the place by chance and since it is a park in the middle of busy roads and the city,
it is more special. There were few people in the park, so I felt like I had the place to myself. There is
also a little museum of a fighter of independence, Lee Hoe-young. The running hours of the memorial
hall are 10:00~18:00 so check your time before visiting. My favourite spot in the park was a small
deck where you could see the night view of Myeongdong. Try visiting the park for a little walk after
your dinner!
