Rebirth of the entrance to the Baeknam Academic Information Center

In order to improve the environment of the Baeknam Academic Information Center, the main entrance was replaced with an automatic door from July 14 (Fri) to 22 (Sat). Previous revolving doors had many safety concerns. There was a risk of safety accidents when entering due to the narrow radius between the revolving doors, the risk of getting hurt in the event of a fire, and the risk of hurting others due to the speed of the revolving door if pushed hard.

Therefore, the existing revolving door, which had various concerns, was replaced with an automatic door that did not cause rapid access and safety accidents. As a result, many parts that have been pointed out as inconveniences in the library have been supplemented, which is expected to have a significant impact on the increase in the convenience of students in terms of library use.

In particular, I think it was a good attempt for the socially disadvantaged in that the right to move was guaranteed. Some say it’s a pity that the only sensibility of the revolving door has disappeared, but many people are responding positively.

Other than that, Hanyang University is trying a new transformation. We are making great efforts to maintain the facilities by installing elevators in the Hanyang Plaza building, which had to be moved only by stairs, and installing new sidewalk blocks in front of the lion statue. We hope this will make it more convenient for students to go to school.
