Famous Han-Gang Spots

In this busy-everyday Seoul, there still is a place where we can take a step away from the busy work and give ourselves a rest. It’s Han-gang, also known as the Han River. Han-gang is a major river in South Korea and the fourth longest river on the Korean peninsula. The river begins as two smaller rivers in the eastern mountains of the Korean peninsula, which then converge near Seoul, the capital of the country. The Han River and its surrounding area have played an important role in Korean history. The Three Kingdoms of Korea strove to take control of this land, where the river was used as a trade route to China. The river still plays a very important role – a water source for over 12 million Koreans. Also, the lower stretches of the Han River are lined with pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, public parks and restaurants, particularly in Seoul. People walk, exercise, or even enjoy picnic along the Han-gang riverside. Here are some main Han-gang spots where you can visit.

TtuckSeom Han-gang Park (Line 7 TtuckSeom Park Station)

TtuckSeom Han-gang Park is very famous as a picnic spot. As Ttukseom station is located near many universities (including Hanyang University), you can easily find university students enjoying picnic here. It is especially beautiful at early in the evening, as the lights on the bridge is turned on. You can enjoy a can of beer with the beautiful Han-gang view. Yeouido Han-gang Park (Line 5 YeouiNaru Station)

Many types of music festivals are often held in Yeouido Park, so it is usually full of people in the weekdays and holidays. Famous Korean musicians sometimes hold a surpise street performance for their fans here.

Dongjak Bridge (Line 4 Dongjak Station)

Dong-Jak Hangang is famous for the cafeteria called ‘Dongjak Cloud Cafeteria’. This cafeteria is very popular because of its special Han-gang view. It is located in the middle of the Dongjak Bridge and known as the cafeteria with the best Han river view in Seoul. You can also enjoy your coffee in the rooftop of this cafeteria. On the 6^th floor, you can also enjoy the beautiful Han-gang view with the 63 building and gorgeous sunsets. The cafeteria is also famous of the ice-cream of 5 different tastes and cocktail with beautiful colors.
