‘Nature Kitchen’: Korean Salad Bar and Buffet

Last week, on the 18th of December, the HUBS International Cooperation Office and myHUBS was invited to the Grand Opening of the Korean salad bar and buffet restaurant, ‘Nature Kitchen’ Hanyang University branch (자연별곡 한양대점). The team was selected to try out the hottest trend in the restaurant industry in Korea these days. Part 1 of the series will cover the general information of the restaurant and the Hanyang University branch, while part 2 will be based on the personal experience, recommendations, and thoughts of the restaurant.

‘Nature Kitchen’, is one of the hottest trends in the restaurant industry, reflecting the consumer needs for a new appetite in food other than Western, Chinese, Southeast Asian, and Japanese cuisine. So, Korean salad bars (which obviously is not consisted just of salad) have become an interest to consumers due to the interest in Korean food amidst the desire for healthy, natural, and diverse menus. ‘Nature Kitchen’ claims to “provide dishes from the eight provinces of the Korean peninsula that braces the stories of King and Queens”.

The popularity of the salad bar has led to the opening of 18 branches so far nationwide since the opening of the first branch in April. 2 additional branches are scheduled to be opened in the last week of December. Of the twenty branches, exactly half are located in Seoul including the Hanyang University branch, in which most exchange students are likely to visit. The representative branches are Hongdae (홍대점), Gangnam (강남점), Apgujeong (압구정점), Myeongdong (명동점), and Hanyang University (한양대점).

The Hanyang University branch is located in the recently opened Park Avenue Enter 6 Hanyang University branch (파크애비뉴 엔터식스 한양대점), on the first floor along with many other restaurant brands that has not been introduced to Wangsimni. It is right across the street from the main entrance of Hanyang University. Below is the information of the Hanyang University branch. The opening hours of other branches may vary, so make sure to check out beforehand.
